DAY 1 : ARRIVAL MAKASSAR / DRIVE TO TANA TORAJA
Meeting services upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport Makassar. Proceed to Tana Toraja (approx. 8 hours drive, via several scenic mountain passes offering spectacular panoramas). Lunch will be served at a seafood restaurant in Pare-Pare. In the afternoon, stop over on Bambapuang café for an afternoon tea while enjoy the wonderful view of Mount Buttukabobong. Late in the afternoon arrive in Rantepao, Tana Toraja. Dinner at local restaurant and then check in for overnight at the hotel
DAY 2 : FULL DAY TANA TORAJA TOUR
After breakfast, we will explore the ancient stone megaliths of Bori. Next, we will visit Pallawa & Sa’dan, Torajan villages famous for their wood carving. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, we will visit the cliff burial site of Lemo with its galleries of ancestor statues (Tau-Tau). In the afternoon, we will visit Marante, traditional Torajan villages famous for their old Tongkonan houses and rice barns and hanging stones graves called 'Erong' by the local people. Dinner at local restaurant and then back to the hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 3 : FULL DAY TANA TORAJA TOUR
In the morning we visit Nanggala and Siguntuk, local Torajan villages famous for their old Tongkonan houses and rice barns. Then, we visit the tomb of Londa where we can see the entombed deceased. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, onwards to Ke’te Kesu to explore the architecture of Tongkonan, Torajan ancestor house. Onwards to Kambira, to see a peculiar baby graves on the trees. Next to Suaya, the graveyard of Kings of Sangalla lies on the hillsides. Then back to Rantepao for dinner at local restaurant and overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 4 : TREKKING BATUTUMONGA -LIMBONG
After breakfast, we drive to Batutumonga, to enjoy the beautiful panorama and experience a moment of the unique Torajan life style. On the way, we stop to explore the burial cave of Lo’komata. From Batutumonga we start our soft trekking to Limbong, passing the villages and paddy fields while experience the way of life of the Torajan people. A “Lunch Box” is provided en route. In the afternoon, we arrive in Limbong village, surrounded by rice fields. Back to the hotel by car for overnight stay after dinner at local restaurant.
DAY 5 : DRIVE BACK TO MAKASSAR / TRANSFER AIRPORT
With the same road, we drive back to Makassar. Stop in Pare-Pare for having lunch at a seafood restaurant. Afternoon arrival in Makassar and directly transfer to Hasanuddin Airport Makassar for your flight to the next destination.
